Glow Up With These 7 New Lightweight Foundations
As the weather started to warm up, it was natural for us to start shedding layer after layer of clothes. The bulky coats were hung up for storage, the dresses began to roll back, and the shoulders began to see light. Just as you want to go light on your outfits at the turn of spring and summer, lighter skincare and beauty products will feel more seasonally appropriate. If you’re keen to try new foundations, consider these newly launched foundations – they’re all exceptionally light.
CoverGirl Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation, $11.99.
This lovely new foundation comes out in 2020 to a rapturous round of applause from beauty gurus and editors alike. This foundation is a clear, very light foundation, close to the edge of a tinted moisturizer, perfect for those who want to smooth and perfect while still letting their natural skin shine through. The addition of coconut milk and aloe vera creates a dewy, hydrated complexion.
Stila Hide & Chic Foundation, $39.
This new foundation from Stila Cosmetics provides a light coverage that lasts all day. It has a thin, watery texture that will look light when applied, but you can build up the coverage as needed. We love that it’s formulated with plenty of natural ingredients, including Irish seaweed, moisturizing seaweed, moisturizing baobab seed extract, moisturizing plant collagen extract, and innovative silica-coated pigments for silky smooth coverage.
Mirani Screen Queen Foundation, $13.99.
If you crave just a touch more coverage without feeling heavy, this foundation is a real winner. Not only is it available in up to 45 shades (bless you, Milani), but it also has a weightless feel, with a flawless finish that covers and blurs. It gets its “screen queen” name from the fact that it protects your skin from blue light through “digital blue light filtering technology”. It is also formulated with honeysuckle extract, which strengthens the skin’s barrier, and titanium dioxide, which protects against sun damage.
Bite Beauty Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation, $39.50.
Bite Beauty’s latest foundation promises the same light texture and buildable coverage. The gel technology replicates your skin texture, which means the look and feel of the foundation is very similar to your own skin. In addition to the colloidal technology, this cream formula is infused with antioxidant-rich margarita berries, moisturizing sunflower seed oil and soothing blue agave nectar. It is available in 32 shades.
Tarte Maracuja Tinted Moisturizer, $29
It was only a matter of time before Tarte launched a tinted moisturizer infused with its signature ingredient, vanilla oil. Since it’s not really a foundation, this product has a very clear texture, which makes it a great choice for those who just want a little extra coverage and lots of hydration. In addition to moisturizing marathon oil, it is rich in whitening and antioxidant vitamin C, rich hyaluronic acid and soothing turmeric root extract. It promises 12 hours of hydration and wear and is available in 20 colors.
Honest Beauty CCC Clean & Repair Cream with Vitamin C Tinted Moisturizer, $21.99.
Honest Beauty’s Clean Corrective (CC) Tinted Moisturizer is very similar to the Tarte product we just mentioned, although it’s slightly less expensive and has SPF coverage. It’s also formulated with vitamin C to brighten the skin and shield it from free radical damage, and it provides very pure coverage with an emphasis on hydration. Basically the only downside is that it only comes in four colors.
Origins Beautiful Blooming Flower Infused Long Foundation SPF 20, $38
This shiny new product from Origins, whose “Pretty in Bloom” name comes from the ingredient list, contains 12 nourishing floral herbs, including flower wax, crushed petals, nectar and essential oils. This is a nourishing, long-lasting foundation that guarantees light to medium coverage for glowing skin. This foundation has an SPF of 20 and is available in 30 colors.
