13 Awesome Low-Carbon Foods to Replace White Bread

Whether you’re keto, high in fiber, or just trying to cut back, it turns out there are plenty of low-carb alternatives to white bread. White bread is malnourished, with a little more calories than empty and, worse, it’s not very hearty or satisfying. Why? Because it’s low in fiber, aka zero calories, it’s the indigestible part of carbohydrates. Fiber can add bulk to your food, help you feel fuller for longer and, perhaps most importantly, help your digestive tract stay in good working order.
So when you’re looking for low-carb options, it’s important to look at the amount of carbs and fiber to see how many grams of carbs your body is actually digesting. You see, carbs-fiber = net carbs, and “net carbs” represents the amount of carbs that your body actually digests.
What’s another thing to keep in mind? Well, not all low-carb bread is an automatic green light. Many are highly processed ingredients with added sugar and sodium……. This ends up making them worse for you than the delicious French bread of the loaf.
So, which options are the most important? Check out our slideshow of breads that deliver on both nutrition and food.
